hey gang I have a older but like new BBQ GURU PARTY Q. It was only used 4 times on a weber 14" smoker. Worked great but going to a different smoker. Now the bad news. We just moved and I can not find the probe. I'm sure you can get one straight from BBQ GURU.

Is a party q over kill on the 14.5 wsm. I would like to install one but dont want to purchase it and it be over kill. Also what would be the best position for the guru adapter to face in side the smoker. I know guru says pointing down but wouldnt that just blow all the ash all over the food?

First time vortex chick for me. First off just let me say, I wish I got the this sooner. My Weber kettle was cooking at a little over 500 degrees with ease. In the beginning the stock thermometer was at 600 degrees and was easily controlled with the bottom vent. Total cook time was 40 minutes...
Wanted to try out the vortex last night. Whipped up an apple pie, did half a ring of kingsford and had no issue of getting a nice 400 degree heat. Haven't cut into it yet, will tonight for dessert after chicken leg qaurters using the vortex!

Well it's been a long time since I have posted so I figured I better post q-view with my long absence. Pork loin in the WSM, grilled sliced pine apple on weber OTG with Turbinado Sugar lightly sprinkled on them to get a nice caramelisation and then sauteed veggies.

I will be doing my first brisket this coming weekend. I plan on doing a very simple, Salt, Pepper, Onion and garlic.
Foil it at 150deg. until 180 deg. I am completely new to brisket but not so much on smoking. I am using a 18" wsm and running it at 225.
Any tips or thoughts on this process...
