    Stand for your smoker?

Anybody keep their smoker outside on a stand? I'm thinking of either buying the stand or building one for my Masterbuilt 40" electric smoker but want more opinions.  My only 2 concerns are: Will the smoker ware faster? When I smoke, there is much moisture that it creates a damp ground, would...

    Masterbuilt 40" smoker question

I purchased a Masterbuilt 40" smoker with window from a local Bass Pro store and it keeps powering off.  I called masterbuilt and they are going to take care of the problem but they want me to send them information of the smoker.  Can somebody take a pic of where the serial number is??  They...

    Best Ham for Christmas

I plan on smoking a ham on Christmas for the family and had a few questions for more experienced cooks out there.  I have a ton of questions for the perfect feast and don't want to mess anything up.   I don't know if I should get a green ham (raw and unsmoked) or a pre smoked ham?  What are the...

    To seal or not?

Thank you for all the inputs..  I did take the seal off as boardpuller said, "if it works, don't fix it."  Very true.  Plan on smoking a ham xmas morning.  Will keep posted

    To seal or not?

I did notice there had to be alot more moisture. When i smoked with the new seal, all four legs had moisture leaking down them creating little water spots on the ground. Din't do that before. Must be good

    To seal or not?

sorry to keep posting on the subject.  Maybe it would be better to keep the door sealed and drill a few holes..   Anybody else do tthis?  Maybe having a hole on all four corners on the back of the smoker?

    To seal or not?

It's not a digital smoker.  I may just take the seal off and keep it stock.  Don't know how comfortable i'd be with drilling into the smoker.  I was just wondering because a worker from bass pro was telling me the digital masterbuilt has a seal which he said was better.  The smoke pouring wasn't...

MES owners - question about your door seal

I have a masterbuilt and noticed smoke coming from all 4 sides of the door.  Food was great, but didn't seem normal so I used high temp sealant and ta da.  However, I smoked ribs tonight (first time with new seal) and they seemed a tad tougher and cooked faster.  Maybe in my head but I did...

    To seal or not?

Any other suggestions? I just want to make sure my setup is perfect. If te seal was a bad idea, i'll take it off. Just want input from someone with years of experience and trial and error

    To seal or not?

Ok. I did noticed the ribs were a tad tougher than they were when i didnt have a seal but could have been since i got them from a different butcher. Possible?

    To seal or not?

I'm new to smoking and am already loving everything about it. I actually enjoy the cooking process better than eating it. I have an electric masterbuilt smoker and noticed smoke flowing from all 4 sides of the door so i applied the high temp seal around it. I smoked ribs tonight and...
