Char-Griller Smokin Pro with firebox- Mods

I've been following these posts for awhile getting ideas for my next upgradce to my Chargriller Duo w/ SFB.  One thing I have done is make it more portable.  I used a cart from Harbor Freight, and had a friend move the wheels to the outside to lower it.  This really helps when moving it from...

    Cart for the CG Duo

The cart has made life easier.  Now when we do any entertaining on the patio, I can move it out of the way.  Tom, the gas side works well, I just tried adding some of the steel over the burner, I think is will work, but I have to narrow the steel some.  I like the smoke, so far I have to add...

    Cart for the CG Duo

I can finally move my CG Duo.  After I got the Duo, and added the SFB, I realized "This Sucker is heavy!"  The 8" plastic wheels are crap.  I started searching the various forums, and saw some nice carts for the CG Pro, but nothing for this bohemeth.  My searching came to an end when I received...

    Shelter for my smoker

You can find Rubbermade storage sheds at Lowes.  They are small sheds made for garden tools.  You could smoke with it doors open, or add vents.  Since it's made of resin, common sense would be required when smoking

Going to my first Q'n Comp. in September.

I'll listen to the advice, and stick to one item.  I'll start working on my pork ribs.  If I use the advice I'm getting from this site, I'll blow away the compitition, or atleast impress a few people.

    A Sunday Smoke with Q-view

What I'm trying for is more flavor in the meat.  I've been reading, and am going to marinate the next one, then give it a rub before smoking.  I will pick up some hickory chips at Lowes.  I also have to work on extending the smoke stack out from under my patio cover.  Inside the house it smelled...

    A Sunday Smoke with Q-view

I started off Sunday with a Tri Tip, ABT's and Jamaican Jerk Sausage smoked in Apple Wood.  I've been focused on trying to learn how to use a smoker, that I haven't put the time into learning how to make the rubs, or how much to use on the meat. Here's my assistant making sure I didn't leave...

Going to my first Q'n Comp. in September.

I'm new to smoking and already addicted, I've also never attended a BBQ compitition.  So that means I'm ready to  enter the world of cometitive Q.  I'll be using my Char-griller Duo with SFB, and all the mods done by then(I hope).  There will be Chicken, Pork, and Beef catagories.  I'm hoping...
