put in about 8 lbs of chicken legs and 3 lbs of skinless breasts.(all I had available) into the smoker I pretty sure the legs will be done before the breast . temp trying to keep to 260. about how long can I expect to have to smoke these till they need tocome out?
chicken in smoker done faster than I expected .. now I have to keep it warm for 3 hrs. grilling the plain bird now.

I have a Masterbuilt 30" Electric smoker that I bought this week. first full load of 3 spat cocked chickens each weighing about 5 lbs
running at 230 degrees about how long should I smoke/ cook this much bird? Hopes for an answer before I find I need to up temp to rush it . booklet says 45...

I tried it on a roasted chicken [to tired to start the grill up] but IT came out very nice.. now IF I could just get the salt redcuced Defenaly an item I will be buying more of .
I had used brickets and hickory chunks
the chicken tasted good.. a bit dryer than I wanted but I am sure it was more because I did not brine it first.

I treated myself well this year I bought a New Char-Grill gas/coal combo and went with the optional smoke side box.
Now I need to learn how to smoke meats that I love to eat. I usaly go for chicken but I do love tender...
I am proud of myself after years of grilling never smoking I smoked my first chicken in my new Char -Grill combo grill
was a bit behind in time so I did not brine the bird. I am on a low salt diet too. so will be looking into other ways to help.
the grill did get a bit hot up to 300...
