    Damaged one is smoking now!  :)  Dry chips this time, as other suggested.  I never had that problem before with soaked chips, but hey whatever makes it work.  I guess you guys that always go dry in the MES are right, since the chips are not going on a direct fire like in a stick burner, soaking...
