    Elk Taco Pinwheels

Looks really good. I’m going to have to pull some ground elk out for these.

Added pic My first reverse flow smoker build

I would still go 1/4” on the inside where the fire will be. Thinner could eventually burn through. Maybe you could go thinner on the outside.

    Offset gotta haves....

The kindling cracker has been mentioned but I also like my little chainsaw. Most of my splits come 18” long and I cut them down a little. It’s way less of a pain then my skill saw or miter saw.

Burn one wood or different kinds at once?

I got maple once and the chunks were pretty mild. I would use it on a lighter piece of meat.

    Looking for Hickory wood

Yeah, I’ve been noticing that when you buy online, it might be seasoned in the sun but the usda still requires some time in the heat. That soaking in water might be a option to help that out.

    Looking for Hickory wood

I have a wood supplier that’s pretty good for different types of oak or almond wood splits in large quantities but they only sell hickory in 1.5 cf bags. Does anyone know of any suppliers in CA selling hickory splits in 1/2 chord or chord quantities?

    Fire

Same as a lot of others on here- Half a chimney of lump and once that’s going I usually add two splits to build my coal bed and once those are burned I’m good to go and my smoker is warm, coal bed is good and my splits burn well.

Issues on mobile though the website.

I’m using an IPhone 15 but using Duck Duck Go and the back button pops up on the bottom of my screen. What I do is when I scroll down, I flick the screen back up and the back arrow/ internet window bar pops up.
