    Rub Recipe

Try a vacuum sealer, like a Tilia FoodSaver. Works great for my rub storage.

    Looking to buy new smoker.

I've got less than $200 total invested in my CG Smoking Pro with SFB, including the simple mods. It works great now! I don't think it will last me ten years by any stretch - I just need to make it last another year or two, until I can get the wife to simmer down and let me buy a Lang, or...

    Vacupack

That appears to be an older model, and it is used - for a starting bid of $79.99??? Can't new models be found for anywhere from $100 to $150? For that price, I'd lean towards purchasing a new model for a few extra bucks. That being said, my vacuum sealer gets a workout in my house.

Ever get tired of cooking to other peoples tastes?

In these situations, you have to consider the source; and the only sources I consider are me and my wife. I'm on something like my 8th generation of rubs - still not quite right and to my liking - but its a work in progress that I'm enjoying. My wife is blunt and straight to the point - she...

    Making ABT's and reheating?

That's a good question, as I always seem to cook more ABT's than necessary - as if that's possible? I've been just re-heating them at home or work in a microwave oven - and they're never as good as when the first come off the CG. However, I don't know of a better way to do it a day or two...

    Smoke Box & Heat

In my CG w/ SFB, using charcoal only (kingsford standard), I can only get my temps up to just a tad over 200 degrees. For higher temps, I use 2 to 3 sticks of pecan or hickory on top of one full chimney of burning charcoal. That way, I can adjust it with airflow to get just about any temp I...

Need Help!! Smoker wont heat up enough

Consider yourself blessed that yours gets up to temp and stays there. Your listing of mods is helpful - thank you. I would love to be able to "control" my temps with air flow adjustments... I have nothing to control, as I am always struggling with getting up to ANY usable temperature. I am...

Need Help!! Smoker wont heat up enough

I'm having the same issues with my CharGriller with SFB. I have made the following mods: Vent - extended down to grate level, on the end opposite the SFB; Three tuning plates added; Two thermos installed at grate level; Charcoal basket replaced with a charbroil shaker basket held up off...
