Need help pretty quick. Pulled pork to be reheated and finishing sauce now or later?

Thanks everyone for your replies. I ended up adding some of the drippings with the fat (don't tell :^) ) and some of the finishing sauce after I pulled it. It's in a ziploc in the fridge now until tomorrow. Will a crock pot work ok to reheat it? I don't have access to an oven or stove at work...

Need help pretty quick. Pulled pork to be reheated and finishing sauce now or later?

I just finished smoking 15lbs. of pork butt for a lunch at work tomorrow. My question is whether I should add the finishing sauce now before refrigerating or tomorrow while reheating? The finishing sauce I'm using is SoFlaQuer's recipe. Any tips on reheating would be much appreciated as well.

More than one Maverick ET73 at the same time?

Well I started the smoke about 1AM and put the butts on around 3AM only to discover the new ET73 receiver was defective. It would register the temps but the Food, Start/Stop and Lo buttons did not work. Fortunately the butts have had about a 10 degree difference since the beginning. So I set the...

More than one Maverick ET73 at the same time?

Just wondering if you can use more than one ET-73 at the same time? So as to monitor two different meats at once from inside the house. I know I could use a second meat probe for the second meat but then I would loose my smoker temp probe. I have one ET-73 and has worked just as advertised. I am...

First attempts at babybacks - Qview

Looking good! Great pictures BTW. What lens are you using on your 5D? I'm using a Nikon D300 and am thinking about switching over to Canon.

    UDS Temp Problem

I would say it may be a combination of the lid and possibly where the nipples enter the drum. I used RTV silicone to seal my air intake. The one thing I know is if you have good seals then you should be able to regulate your temps once settled with very little problems. The more air tight your...

    UDS Temp Problem

How and where are you measuring your temps? If all the intakes are closed and your coals don't go out then you have an air leak somewhere.

    First pork butt smoke ever

Thanks Guys. Here's a couple shots of the second butt I just got done pulling. I took this one off the smoker @ 195*. The first one got to 201* before I took it off. The second butt has a much darker color to it than the first one did. This one almost looks like dark meat compared to white...

    First pork butt smoke ever

OK, OK here are some pics. Hope this qualifies for ya . The first butt just out of the foil after resting for 4 hours. Bone just pulls right out. Pulling my first pork butt . Loaded up on a bun ready for a little sauce. I have to admit that I was a little disappointed in the...

    First pork butt smoke ever

Well as some of you know I finished building a UDS last week just in time for Easter. I did 12 racks of baby backs for a family get together and it was a huge success. This weekend I decided to do my first pork butt. I apologize in advance for not taking any pictures of the first butt. I just...

    Cover for UDS?

What kind of cover is it? For a Weber kettle grill or a generic gas grill cover?

    Cover for UDS?

Just finished my UDS and would like to cover it to keep the elements off. The lid I used is from a Weber kettle grill so I know a cover for one of those would fit but I doubt it would be long enough to cover the entire drum. Anyone covering their UDS? If so with what?

    Stainless Steel UDS

Thanks for the compliments fellas. However I can't take credit for any of the build ideas. I incorporated them from other people's builds that went before me. I am just thankful that they took the time to take pictures and share the ideas with the rest of us. If you haven't seen THIS THREAD and...

    Stainless Steel UDS

Yes, I used a water pan on the bottom rack. I plan to experiment with placement of different diffusers at the different heights. For the ribs pictured I used the water pan from my ECB on the grate closest to the charcoal basket.

    Stainless Steel UDS

I finally finished build my UDS the other day. Today I did a test/seasoning run with it. Tomorrow I'm smoking baby back ribs for an Easter/B-day party. The original plan was for 15 racks but after some cancellations I'll only be smoking 12 racks. Still quite a big smoke for me. I'm...

First smoke on the new UDS. BBR Q-view!

Well everyone it was a unbridled success! They came out fantastic. They may not have been the prettiest ever but given the fact I had to use ribs racks I think they look OK. As you can see a few of them got a little more done than others due to the difference in thickness but were still...
