We have a few old timers that will always be busy. The big chains survive on their name and not the true quality of food.
I don't think that the majority of people have ever tasted true, well cared for BBQ. Famos Dave's was all that I knew until I was out of college. It just depends on what...
I just went out with the dog and checked it only to find it was showing the trouble code. I am afraid I lost too much time today to get it done in time for dinner. I will have to wait for Sat. to come around when it will be above freezing and I can spend some quality time with it. As for me...
It worked. Just took a hot rag and held it onto the temp stick on the back right side. Good to go. Now to let it preheat and get the meat on.
Thanks guy- This websit rocks. Quick responses
Just went to preheat the smoker and it showed an error code I assume. It looks like EAAF. Does anyone know what that means. It is cold today (below 20).
Is it too cold to use?
Thanks-Ben
Well I finished up the meat and headed out the door so fast we weren't able to get any finished pics...
Meat looked great! It tasted good but not great...
I will need to find some good rubs that hold their flavor a bit more. The one my wife made had a good look and initial taste, but it was...
I agree with you guys on putting the birds on the bottom. Rookie mistake
I also covered the shoulders in foil only 3 hrs into the smoking process instead of 5 like I was planning. I'm sure they will turn out fine...
They should be done around 6:30 and I will get some pics up tonight if not...
I am trying to post a new pic of the meat once I opened the smoker to wrap the shoulders. I read the directions on here on resizing the pictures. I did it, and it is still too big. It seems frustrating trying to get a pic on here. Any suggestions?
PS. It is smelling great outside!
I have got the pork butts sitting in the rub as I type. Getting ready to do the Chickens in a second.
This is my first time doing the chickens. I have a 30" MES. Does anyone recommend a time frame for them to finish?
They are whole chickens and each is just under 5lbs.
Let me know any...
Just tried an outlet inside the house, and it worked
I don't understand it, but it is working...
Maybe I can salvage tonights New Years Eve party after all.
I am using a HD extension cord so hopefully it won't effect the heating element.
They said to remove the power box from on top of the smoker box and take it inside. It made no sense to me either. They are sending me a new power box.
We are in Knoxville, TN and it is the upper 30's this morning. She said the temp outside shouldn't effect it, but just having the cords away from each other.
I went to turn on the smoker (MES) today for only the second time. And guess what? No power... I tried 3 different outlets and checked the breakers. Two pork butts and 2 whole chickens are about to go to waste today.
Called the factory and they said to remove the power unit from the box...
