Yea, I'm lucky to see $4.99-$5.99/lb here as well at Sams/Costco. Can't get them anywhere else here.

    Holding cabinet build thoughts

None of the sausage recipies I have ever followed have required heat above 180* max to avoid 'fat out', and many are a bit lower. I'd use the element that's there and a smoke generator of some sort (amazen tube, tray, mailobox mod, or smoke pistol).

    CPAP Advice

I had similar issues when I tried to adjust to a CPAP machine. I tried a dental appliance, which I also had trouble with. Ultimately, I had to have surgery - which was a miserable experience. It has corrected the issue - but it was a painful and long recovery due to all of the work done. They...

    First long cook

The last one where I tried 48 hours was 'mushy'. I wouldn't go beyond 24 hours, IMHO.

    Snack Stick Smoking Question

I have a Meadow Creek BX25 smoker, and use KBB when smoking. I’m planning on a dedicated MES40 unit with PID when I find a used one, but have a question until then. Can I cold smoke snack sticks and/or summer sausage with my Amazen Tube for several hours (3-4), then just sous-vide them to final...

    Issues with Masterbuily

I had the same issue on my last Masterbuilt, electronics lasting about 18 months (outdoors AND covered). Went on eBay and found a new display/control, and swapped it out. I think I paid about $30 shipped. After that, I started moving it into my shed and back out to use it - and it stayed working...

Cost of making beef jerky from store-bought meat

Wait, a lisinopril allergy? I take it also, and have had this weird dry cough for like 2 years now - and my doctor never mentioned it could be a lisinoprol allergy!!!!

Cost of making beef jerky from store-bought meat

I'm on Amlodipine at 5mg, they tried to take it to 10mg and my feet went to 100% asleep/pins and needles and they reduced back to 5mg and added hydrochlorothiazide (only 10mg so far) and it has been helping me as well. I'm thinking I will end up at about 20-25mg on it as well.

    Firehouse Biscuits & Gravy

Way too much flour for me. With 1lb sausage, I generally use 1/4 cup flour and 3 cups milk.

    Sleep...or more appropriately lack of...

I'll be honest here, I suffer from Severe Anxiety and related panic attacks, which I know are far from being Bipolar, but it somewhat similarly affects my sleep (or lack thereof). I had chronic insomnia for nearly 15 years, falling asleep at wheel driving TO work in the am, sleeping in my car at...
