This was designed for the Bradley Smoker but it supposedly works fine without it. I am going to finish wiring it up over the next few days. I will let you know how it works out.
Here is the diagram that I am going to use. I was told it works well. Power cord female end(to smoker) goes to the heating element. Power cord male end (to generator) goe to your power. I have attached the diagram. Here is the link to the guy's website who designed this...

I've had an older model MES for about 5 years now. I had the same problem. Sometime i would get great smoke (higher temp) and sometimes I would have to fight uit the whole time. I finally gave up and bought a Smoke Pistol. Now this thing rocks. I can cold smoke now to. Just my 2 cents...
