    JR Enterprises Smoker

Did you find one to purchase ASBBQFAM? I have a 28-72 and love it. Burned through the upper tank however and I need to repair it. Does anyone know what happened to JR? I took his BBQ class in San Diego years ago before purchasing my smoker. Super cool dude.

    New maverick or igrill?

I have the igrill and the range is the limiting factor for me. Operationally it is nice however. The Bluetooth only works out to about 50ft. I have heard the Maverick works at a longer range.

    Bacon on a Fattie

I love the fact that you guys are using a torch to crisp up bacon. It does not get more Manly than that. Another excuse to go buy some tools. Awesome.

    Carne Asada marinade

Greetings everyone, I am going to grill up some Carne Asada (Fajitas to many) and was wondering if anyone had a good recipe for the marinade/rub. I used to go to a Carniceria (Mexican meat market) in Escondido, CA and get the "Ya Preparada" (Already prepared) but have not found a good one up...

    Wood-Western Washington

It was a place a few miles down Jim Creek Road outside of town. Nice guy that let me pick the wood. I will look for his contact info if you like. I originally found it on Craigslist.

    Wood-Western Washington

Howdy All, I found some Maple (Not sure which variety) up in Arlington for a relatively good price. Going to throw on a couple of Briskets and a few racks of ribs tomorrow and see how it goes. Will report later. Thanks again for all the suggestions. Regards, Glenn.

    Wood-Western Washington

Thanks for everyone's reply's. I will follow up on the leads. BBQwood had white oak and Mesquite but quoted $750.00 for a mixed half cord with me picking it up in Yakima. The price seems a bit steep. Is that the going rate for this neck of the woods? (pun intended) I have plenty of room to...

How Much Do You Spend on This Hobby?

Easily over 2k, but it is one hobby the entire family (friends) can enjoy. My lovely bride always seems to be on board when it comes to getting goodies for the smoker or grill.

    Free Baby Backs...well done!!!!

I feel your pain, I carry around a timer when I have "other" things to do around the house. Adult beverages have also doomed a rack or two of ribs in the past.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I enjoy Smoking and taking pictures so you will probably be stuck with lots of QVIEW from me. Lots of good info here and I am glad I found you. I hope to contribute when I can.

    Howdy Amigo's

Been lurking for a while and finally had the time to sign up. I have been Smoking Meats about ten years and just moved up to the Seattle area from San Diego. I was born and raised on the border in Texas and moved to SoCal in 1994. I caught the bug at a JR Enterprises smoking class in San Diego...
