One if the joys of having your college grad son living with you. After attempting (and failing) for way too long asked my son to help out. Went in to wash my hands and when I returned it was done. His friends were oohing and ahhing over it and asking when was my first smoke. So I have some...

    Nothing like a Grad Party

Cooked for my sons graduation party.  Smoked a couple of tri tip roasts using my good old webber kettle set up for indirect.  Used a basic rub (salt pepper garlic powder) and after the meat temped out at almost 140, seared it wrapped it and later sliced it up for him and his friends. Styles may...

    rib rack looks copper now

Looks like the stainless steel coating is wearing off, is it still safe to use?  The good news is that I have only two racks to do today, so will not need this, but I will for the 4 rack jobs. Thanks in advance Ray

Replacement lids for Weber with Thermometer

I am trying to get a lid with a thermometer for my basic Weber 22.5 grill for my smoking needs.  I am surprised that I cant find them on sale anywhere.  Questions are:  1.  Would the lid from the 22.5 inch Weber Performer work on the 22.5 Weber Silver, and 2.  How the heck can you get one.  I am...

Check the Temp on a Weber 22.5 in Kettle

Thanks to all for the information/advice.  Used a potato, and just rested lid on the wire.  The temp ran a little hotter than I would like, but the end product was superb.  Acutally better than the smoker I used before.  I may stick with this method for a while.  Using a rib rack, I can still do...
