    My Fattie throwdown

Nice. With the bison and turkey bacon, it should be a pretty lean fatty, as fatties go. I'm also curious about the taste, texture and juiciness. Well done!

    I won a free grill

First of all, congrats on the free new grill! That's awesome! Second, basic info on IR grills from Wikipedia: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbecue_grill) "Infrared grills work by igniting propane or natural gas to superheat a ceramic tile, causing it to emit infrared radiation that cooks...

    ABT Fatty with Qview

Glad a few of you were able to see the pics. I re-uploaded and reposted a few times with no luck. I've posted qview before with no problem, so I don't know what the issue is!

    Smoked ribeyes with Qview!

Weird, I see the pics fine with both Internet Explorer and with Google Chrome, but they aren't showing up with Firefox. Of course, I am pretty new at this. I'll figure it out!

    ABT Fatty with Qview

At the wife's request, I made an ABT fatty for dinner last night. Started with grilled poblano and jalapeño strips, cooked bacon, monterey jack and cream cheese, and JD hot sausage: The poblano's went down first on the sausage: Followed by m-jack and bacon. (A little blurry!): Then more...

    Smoked ribeyes with Qview!

First off, I have to thank ronp for the inspiration. Every time I see his smoked ribeyes I want to try them. Well, I finally did, and the results were nothing short of fantastic! First, the steaks. Just under a pound each: Rubbed with Arthur Bryants Beef and Pork Rub: Out of the smoker...

Butts -To foil or not to foil?

I've done both ways, and definitely prefer no foil. I love the thick crusty bark! Plus, if you start with a good fatty butt, it's never gonna dry out.

    Hot Water Heater advice

The GE by Rheem at HD is a great water heater. I just replaced mine after 10 years, and it was the 6 year model. No trouble with it at all during that time. For 2 people, the 40 gallon should be fine. I actually went down to the 30 for two people, and I haven't noticed a difference yet. Of...

    Brinkman Propane Smoker Questions

I'm using the Brinkmann Vertical from Home Depot. It must be an HD exclusive because I haven't found it anywhere else, even online. There are few things about it that are great. I like the double doors and the big wood chunk pan (for the size of the smoker). I wish it had adjustable venting...

    First fatties - first q-view!

I decided to try a couple fatties to take to a friends house for a bbq last night. I was a little nervous, but it wasn't nearly as difficult as I thought it would be. Fattie #1 is ground beef with bacon, mushrooms and sharp cheddar. Fattie #2 is sausage with pepperoni, green peppers...
