Pulled Pork Tater-tot Natchos!! (say that 3 times fast)

Was stumped on what to make for dinner - didn't want to make same old pulled pork sandwiches, so got a little creative. The fix-ins: Sweet Baby Rays Sweet & Spicy BBQ Sauce, chopped up a red onion, some Famous Dave's Original spicy pickles, and grated some mozzarella and sharp white cheddar...

Woot! Free pizza and $25 off a new Maverick ET-733!

Got an e-mail to participate in a survey for Papa Murphey's Pizza - they gave me a free large Hawaiian pizza and I had to do a quick survey after eating it. Then when you get done with the survey you can also pick a $25 dollar gift card (about 8 different ones to pick from). I picked Amazon.com...

Cash and Carry Brisket $2.77 per/lb

Best deal on brisket I've seen in a long time. Their packers usually average 13-15 lbs each, not the 10 lb. they show on the add.

*UPDATE* First attempt at something new - hot smoked uncured pork belly!

OK - so I've been in a rut - ribs, chicken, butts, brisket - haven't done anything new in a long time. So I was wandering through Costco and low and behold they had pork belly!  Never seen them before - I had read lots of posts about folks cooking them (other than bacon) so decided to give it a...

    Porsche vs. Audi

A good mid week laugh! A young blonde girl in her late teens, wanting to earn some extra money   for the summer, decided to hire herself out as a "handy woman" and   started canvassing a nearby well-to-do neighborhood.   She went to the front door of the first house and asked the owner if he  ...

    8 Chicken Smoke

So Safeway had whole Foster Farm birds for $0.86 per/lb. Called my neighbors and told them if they wanted to buy some birds I would smoke them along with mine, if I'm gonna fire up the WSM might as well fill all the racks. Got 4 birds for me, 2 each for two different sets of neighbors. Hit them...

Pulled Pork - it can even fix cars!

So I have a 2005 Dodge Caravan and the frame for the back of the drivers seat had a cross member crack. Lucky for me I have a neighbor who is a young (mid 20's) hungry guy that likes BBQ and just so happens to be a welder by trade with his own TIG welder at home. So I offered him a couple of...

OMG!! Sooooo gooood! I could die a happy man!

OK - so on Super Bowl Sunday I trimmed some spare ribs to St. Louis cut and had them for the game. I also smoked the trimmed skirt portions that I cut off of each rack of ribs. This is a piece of meat that is a mix of fat, gristle, and some meat. I usually smoke them then pull the meat off for...

My Super Bowl Spread! (Booo Hawks didn't win.... but the food was good!)

OK so my team didn't win, but the game was good and the food was great! Did some prep on Saturday to make it easier on Sunday: Smoked 10 lbs. wings at 250°, just smoked them naked. Then tossed half of them with Yoshida's Teriyaki sauce and the other half with Frank's Red Hot, then put them in...

    The "day" of pig(s).....

Bad day to be a pig around my place.... Volunteered to provide some pulled pork for my kids school, and I couldn't stand the sight of an empty top rack on the smoker so I decided to toss on some ribs for dinner. Ribs and butts all ready for the WSM and some hickory TBS! The 1 year old St...
