    I will follow this as well.. I have built a couple pits now. I live in Wisconsin, 1/4 wall pipe is very expensive (if you can even find some) around here so I build mine with .11g steel and roll it, the fire box is 1/4" I can not compare apples to apples to a 1/4" wall since i do not have one...

    Welcome Uncle Mike, funny i have a brother in law i refer to as " Uncle Mike" in appleton.. Glad to have another cheesehead around. I recently started building pit's (actually just posted my first youtube ad today) so if there is anything I can help with let me know.

    i tear off just the outer husks leaving some on the cob, open the ear up and remove the silk. I then fold the husks back up and soak in sugar water.....soak it however long you want..smoke till its done. i have no clue on the time, i just do it by sight.

    Ha Ha yeah she's my baby... I just finished pricing out what i need for materials, and will be underway with a build for a local lady.. this one here is for sale on craigslist..I really don't know if it will sell..the price in materials was way more than i expected..plus 40+ hrs labor  i didnt...

    Thanks..it was fun, now on to the next one we  were asked to build. Today my wife suggested we put this one on craigslist to see what kind of price we could get for it..would be nice to get enough to cover the costs and buy us a welder for home.

    Well, it works...and works well..I am very happy with how this turned out. I can't believe the difference in this compared to my cheap Char Griller.. the best news is........today i received an order to  build one like it :)    we had to do a couple tweaks but over all it was good to go out of...
