    Advice on Party

I did a birthday party last weekend. There were 12 adults and 3 children. I did one 7 pounder and a 8 pounder. Had lots of sides. I'm guessing I had about 4 pounds of the 16 pounds smoked left over

    How Many Mes Owners Here?

I have the 30" and purchased it at Cabelas. I purchased it after having a charcoal smoker for years and just never being able to get decent food out of it. For years I just stopped smoking for being tired of wasting both my time and food. The MES gave me confidence back in what I'm doing now...

    venison sticks

I used fresh ones on my summer sausage I did last weekend. I put them in the wifes food processor to get them chopped up real small. My only regret is that I didn't put enough of them in

What I got for my Birthday

I took Ron's advice and read the chapter on how he got started. As always, Ron was right in that it was a great chapter. Always interesting how determination will make something you always wanted to do finally become successful. Snow has ended in south central minnesota, but there still is a 30...

    Went Electric

Bow, It sounds like you already know what you're doing. Thats the temps I used for doing my deer summer sausage on my MES. Make sure you have something in your bowl to keep your temp stabil. I've used water in the past, but a wile back someone suggested sand. I got a bag od playsand from the...

Large smoker rig in Cedar Rapids, IA on Craigslist

I agree that its a boat trailer. On any given weekend in Minnesota you'll see a heavier boat then this smoker going down the road at 65+ MPH. So do suppose the red ryder is to shoot the taste testers in the a## when they come over and lift the lid looking to sample? Bike

Lots of wook chips left over from my last smoke

I add just a small handfull on each fill repeating the fill about every hour to hour and half. Seems like it gets it going to just a light blue smoke. When I'm done the tray just has a small ash pile.

it was 25 degrees and snowing on friday night/saturday morning I had a little snow on everything around me but I had no heat issues with my MES. But then again I keep the door closed and only opened it to spritzed and quick closed. I had a couple of 8 pound butts and they wrapped up in under 12...
