I don't know if you have a Kroger's grocery store in your area but the one near my house has their Chargriller Duo combo gas/charcoal grill on clearance for $179 (Normally about $250-300). Add the side fire box and you will have an all in one gas grill +charcoal grill +smoker with a side burner...
$7.98 + shipping online from Tractor Supply company. Doesn't come with needles but the ones from my cheap Wal Mart injector fit it just fine :)

Stock my GOSM would not run below about 225.
I was able to get mine to run below 200 with no mods at all. Was able to pull a stable 160 degrees to smoke some Salmon the other day. All I did was turn the burner between the "High" and "Off" settings and you can run the burner with a much lower...
I thought my GOSM needed a little shelf space so I picked up a couple of those U channels with the slots that accept shelf brackets and mounted them to my GOSM. I then added a couple of shelf brackets and made a shelf from an old cutting board. Looks great, factory even. Sure beats the dumb...
With the needle valve, what if you put a gauge between the valve and the cooker so you get a numerical value you can associate with the temperature to help eliminate some of the guesswork?
I was in Home Depot today and they had a CharBroil vertical gas that was totally different then the one I saw in Wal Mart. Much much nicer. The water pan and chip pan were two separate pans instead of built into one. They were also pretty deep and sizable. The front door has a nice curve too...
Well I found one of the small GOSM's at one of the 3 local Wal Marts on clearance for $74. It was a display model but it looked like it was in very good shape. Pretty clean for sitting under the cover of the garden section. One small ding in the back and it's missing the push nuts to hold the...
Actually I'm wondering if the opposite is true, too brand new on the market to find much info. Last week the only offset smoker my local HD had was the Silver Smoker, and I watched them sell the last one they had. I went in there yesterday and they had the display revamped and restocked, this...
I was looking at this one and the water pan/ wood holder seemed like the weakest link. I was wondering if a plain deep metal baking pan can be adapted to fit into possibly the lowest rack to use as a water pan. Of course then you lose the ability to just use the drawer to check everything.
Howdy sMFr's,
I could best be described as a "Newbie" to the art of smoking. Now that's not to say I haven't slow cooked my fair share of meats. I make one heck os a Boston Butt in the oven with a simple dry rub of paprika, garlic powder, dry mustard, a little salt, and brown sugar cooked at...
