    Has anyone tried chunking or cutting pickles into spears when fermenting them in a crock? Is it best to crock them whole then cut them? I also though about put carrots and cauliflower  in the crock.

    I have some chunks of cherry wood stored in plastic buckets with a screw on lid. I also have some that has not been chunked yet and is stored right next to the buckets outside. The cunks in the bucket have a white coating on it. The wood stored inthe open dosn't. Is this a mold . Is it safe to...

    finaly joined

    Have been watching this fourm for about a year. Most any quiston I have have been asked by others. Thought I would finnaly join. I just have a charcol grill and a big plywood box I use for cold smoking.
