    Three Women (R)

Three women, one engaged, one married and one a mistress, are chatting about their relationships and decided to amaze their men. That night all three will wear black leather bras, stiletto heels and a mask over their eyes. After a few days they meet up for lunch. The engaged woman: The other...

New GOSM - Question about mods

To those with needle valves - Do you keep the knob on the gosm on high and only adjust via the needle valve?

New GOSM - Question about mods

My new gosm wide body is currently on a UPS truck to be delivered today. Although I'm excited to get it put together I was thinking about all of the different mods that people have come up with for these and I was wondering if there are any that you wish you had done before it was put together...

    Peeing in the Bushes

A little old lady is walking down the street, dragging two plastic garbage bags, one in each hand. The re's a hole in one of the bags, and once in a while a $20 bill flies out of it onto the pavement. Noticing this, a policeman stops her. "Ma'am, there are $20 bills falling out of that bag..."...

    Good gloves

All the PVC dipped gloves I've seen are one size fits all but I've only looked at them at Lowe's and Home Depot. I remember seeing cans of stuff for rubberizing tool handles though. I wonder if you could use that to dip your own gloves that fit better?

    Smoking Blog

I was tired and it was pretty late when I posted this last night. Now that I have the blog I intend to post more detailed info in future posts. Things like woods used, smoker temp, weather conditions, recipes (if they're publicly available) etc. It'll be my online version of a log book with...

    Smoking Blog

I just started a blog that I intend to use to track my successes and failures with smoked foods. If anyone's interested stop by and have a look. http://firebaugh.wordpress.com/

MES, maximum smoke time on a wood load?

I can't get another one locally so I'm pretty much giving up on it. When they work they're great but from what I've read after getting it a lot of people have had problems of one type or another. I think I'm going to get a widebody GOSM for less than half of what I paid for the MES.

    sauce trade off

I'm still new here but I'd be interested in a swap. I live in south Mississippi and work in New Orleans. If there's anything down here that someone would like me to look for let me know.

New MES problems - won't stay on

I brought it back to Sam's today for an exchange and they refunded my money. There were none in the store and the lady at the returns desk said it was a "deleted item." I'm not sure exactly what that means since they still have them on their website. Now to do some research and decide what...

MES, maximum smoke time on a wood load?

I had a MES 40 but it died after 3 uses. I took it back to Sam's today to exchange it but they didn't have any in stock so they refunded my money. Anyway, to answer your question. I was loading chips every hour on the smokes that I did get to do. I also added 1 piece of charcoal to each chip...

Ribs and Butt for the 4th

My MES seems to be dead after 3 uses so I had to smoke my ribs on my grill today. They came out good but would have been a lot better in the MES.

New MES problems - won't stay on

It's doing it again today and this time resetting the control panel isn't working. I believe it's time for it to go back to Sam's.

    Good gloves

Thanks TN. I didn't even think of using those gloves. That will definitely be cheaper.

    Good gloves

Yes, I would continue to use my welding gloves for everything except handling the food itself. How does everyone else handle their food, ie wrapping a butt when it hits 165? If you're using welding gloves how are you cleaning them?

    Good gloves

I have welding gloves that I use for handling most things but now that I'm doing bigger things (butts and brisket) I'd really like to have gloves like the one's Walking Dude said he has. I don't like touching the cooked (or still cooking) meat with the welding gloves. I've found two pair on...

Ribs and Butt for the 4th

It's hard to tell in that small q-view but I managed to get a smoke ring using 1 briq with each load of chips. I'm sure it would have been even better if I didn't have problems with my MES early yesterday. I ended up starting the butt on my propane grill and by the time I transferred to the...

Ribs and Butt for the 4th

After sorting out some problems this morning I finally have finished pulled pork in the fridge for Friday. My almost 7 year old helper. Finished butt rested and ready for pulling. Pulled and ready for eating.
