getting ready to drill holes for dual thermometers on Char Griller Smokin Pro. this is the last of th SMF suggested mods on my new smoker, found thermometers at ACE (Holland Grill $10 ea). before i drill holes....how far in and up for the best results?

the recipe below is, believe it or not, what this NC boy uses on a 100 lb pig when i have a pig pickin. being from eastern NC and not using the traditional vinegar and pepper sauce, this gets me some strange looks. the same people who turn up their nose as eastern NC bbq purist are the very ones...
Found this forum and have gotten hooked. Got a Char-Griller for Father's day and already startred the mods found here. Smoked a butt and some country ribs this past weekend, didn't turn out too bad for a noob. I've been cooking whole hogs on a oil drum from a tobacco barn converted to a grill...
