Asian Inspired Country Style Pork - Recipe & Q.View

Your recipe sounds an awful lot like Koren BBQ or Bulgogi! My wife's half Korean, so we have that quite often and it a household favorite. Everything looks fantastic! I've never found a recipe that I liked as much as CJ's Kalbi or Bulgogi marinade, but I think I'm going to try yours next time.

    Second MES smoke

I do like the meat that is coming out of the MES the more I use it. It seems like every time is a little better than the last. That being said, I do miss the charcoal flavor. One of these days I will have to fire them up at the same time and see which one I like more. That's a great idea...

    Second MES smoke

I got pics of most of it and now just have to post pics. I never tried ABT before and shared it with my neighbors. Everyone, including myself were AMAZED! We did agree that we could wrap a stick with bacon and it would be good, though. I used cream cheese, breakfast sausage and mexican blend...

Any mods for the Brinkman Vertical?

Thanks for the replies everyone and those links will be helpful to make some modifications. As far as grilling: I don't consider it grilling if it takes me four hours to do a rack of ribs or eight hours for a butt. I do usually grill my chicken and hamburgers on it though by placing them close...

    Just saying "Hi"

Huskers rule! JK! Can't stand them, maybe its the fans that bother me more. Great idea with the blanket and sand, but I wonder how well it would stay on my vertical smoker. I'm going to have to get one anyway. Maybe my wife can cut and sew one with a door flap or something. Way to make a...

    Just saying "Hi"

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I did get the 5 day e-course and it had some very helpful info. I plan on a smoking marathon until Thursday to break in the smoker for the best taste possible with the picnic roast. I threw a bottom round roast on today and have a chicken for tomorrow. I wish...

Any mods for the Brinkman Vertical?

Hey guys, I have owned a Brinkman Vertical for a few years and have turned out some pretty good Q on it. Unfortunately, there is no tuning allowed on this thing. I drilled some holes in the coal pan to get a better burn, but that is all. Anything else I can do to help keep a constant temp? I...

    Second MES smoke

I'm having a marathon of smoke to break in my new MES for a picnic roast I'm doing for the 4th. Yesterday was a Turkey breast that turned out ok. Today is a Bottom Round roast. I found I like Emeril's Steak Rub for a brisket I did a month ago so I used it today. I'm curious how the meat will...

    Just saying "Hi"

I've been lurking for a while and finally decided to introduce myself. I originally had an electric R2 unit about 6 years ago which worked pretty well, but upgraded to a charcoal upright Brinkman (not the R2 type). I've turned out some pretty good eats but always had problems with wind and...
