Piney, I was planning on that (great minds think alike I guess). Thanks for the suggestion, though. Ritchie, I agree with your point about cooking to temp. Thanks.

I agree totally. I just wanted to get an approximation to know when to start, since it will be in the middle of the night.

I get your point. It makes a lot of sense. I guess my confusion came in with the poundage. I believe (correct me if I am wrong) that if you have a full pork shoulder (butt and picnic) that weighs, oh, 16 lbs, you would smoke it for approx 24 hrs (1.5 hrs x 16 lbs). I wasn't sure if the 1.5...

    BBQ Grillware Vertical Smoker Questions

Hey all, I have had my BBQ Grillware Vertical Smoker (the “smokerâ€) for a few weeks now. I have only used it once when I smoked a pork butt and had fairly good results. However, I donâ€8482t feel like I am using it as effectively as possible. In this post I need to ask about the vents. I...

    Hello from TN

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I appreciate it! Just reading some the old posts has helped in various areas already! White Cloud, the name thing is somewhat surprising. I would think that the system would have told me that name is unavailable. If your brother goes by smoke whisperer...

    Hello from TN

Hello All! I just found this forum. It looks like a great community! I have been smoking meat on gas and charcoal grills for the past 1-1 1/2 years with pretty good results (at least to me, my wife and a few others), but I still have a lot to learn. My wife got me a BBQ Grillware Propane...
