I bought the same one and I don't think that it has wifi or bluetooth capabilities. It's the gen 2 controller but without wifi. I just put mine together last night and cooked on it the first time. It's a great little cooker...very impressed.
Using the calculator how could I measure this half circle firebox to check to make sure it's 1/3 the size and to see if I have enough air inlets in the box. Any help is appreciated? Looking at it I don't think the three squares on the door are enough. The smoker is 250 gallon tank.
Thanks for the advice Dave! Do you know what size the tuning plates would need to be for a 250 Gallon Propane tank? If I go with tuning plates should I worry with the pipes? If you notice one of them had rusted and broke off. I guess I will try and replace that.
I'm definitely going to try...
I managed to find this 2 hours from my house and couldn't pass it up. I bought the whole rig for $300. Other than the tire blowing out on the way home I still made out like a bandit. It needs some TLC and paint but it definitely will be good to go soon.

I'm conflicted as what to do because I've read where guys have done both. Thinner RF plate due to recovery times and wasting fuel to heat the plate and I've heard folks using thicker plate when they have a thinner cooking chamber. Thinner metal on the plate and cooking chamber could mean...
I've got the tank and have mocked up a drawing to show how I think the build will go. My main concern is my Firebox. The tank is relatively thin metal. I know it will be hard to hold heat in the chamber. Should I beef up the reverse flow plate by using 1/8” metal or more. Or should...
Try craigslist. I've found several for sale in the Evansville area. I'm picking one up tomorrow for $75 it's not propane but it's 250 gallon fuel oil tank. I've seen propane tanks for sale as well.
Thanks Jeff. I think I'm going to go ahead and get the one that's been sitting. I'll definitely be giving you a holler if I completely screw this tank up! You sell them for $15? That's a heck of a deal. Whereabouts are you in KY? We used to live in the Lexington Area as well as L-Ville...
That's a nice looking rig. I'm going to be building one real similar to yours. I have 250 gallon fuel tank as well.
Do you know about what thickness the metal is on the tank?
Your trailer looks awesome can you give me a ballpark on cost and a material list for it. I appreciate any help...
I found another tank the same size. He guessed about 3' x 5'. The owner is going to check the dimensions and let me know for sure. It used to hold heating fuel oil and is perfectly round with light surface rust. He wants $75 for it which I think is fair. He's an older gentleman who had...
That's what I was thinking to. I read somewhere that if you weld on both sides it will be much stronger. I think a thinner metal might not be a bad thing for my first build.
Thanks for the info on the difference of the tanks that makes a lot more sense now. I definitely intend to put the welder to work. The guy I bought it from said he only used one spool of wire through it.
Hey guys it's been awhile since I posted. I'm looking to start building a reverse flow tank smoker and have been looking for tanks. I've found a 250 gallon diesel tank for $75 on Craigslist (I offered the guy $50 he didn't seem to happy with that) close to home. The owner said he just...
