Which Electric should I get on a budget?

Thanks dribon - just looked at Cabelas and the Digital MES is on sale for $149.99, but there aren't any Cabelas in GA, so it would be another $30 to ship it to me... The total comes up to $178 and change with shipping, which is still $10 cheaper than amazon.

Which Electric should I get on a budget?

I have a GOSM at the house, but we've been talking about getting a small electric for out at the lake. I'm staying away from a stick-burner so I don't have to babysit a fire when I could be out skiing or fishing. I would like another GOSM, but the nearest place to gas up a tank is about 45 mins...

Anyone have DirecTV HD w/ DVR?

I've been with DTV for about 2.5 years now.. Can't say enough great things about them! The service easily beats the local cable Co, Charter, and Comcast (all available around me). I like their interface better than Dish Network's, and I think their DVR is more responsive than Dish's, but that's...

    Thermometer's on clearance

Here's a link to the thermometer on lowes.com. Should be able to punch in your zip code and see if there are any in stock and how much they're going for... http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?actio...8GT&lpage=none Of course this may not be 100% correct, but Lowes.com is pretty good about showing...

Resizing jpegs for a sig line

In photoshop, if you go to the image size dialogue, what does it say the resolution is under pixel size? Anything more than 72 pixels/in is unnecessary for the web, so lower it to 72. Actually, before you do that, make a note of the width and height at the top under 'pixel dimensions' because...

    Propane gauge help

Like everyone else above me said... have a spare tank! I have a GOSM and a gas grill, so I can always steal from one or the other to get something cooked. The neighbors have two spares and on one occasion I actually had to go steal a spare from them because both of mine went dry at the same...

    Outdoor Q-tool storage box?

Actually, I've got a large plastic craftsman toolbox that I was thinking about using as well. That might not be a bad way to go and the price is certainly right!

Beans that will stand up to Dutch's

Them's fighting words! Not sure anything will ever touch Dutch's beans, but I'm willing to give it a shot :)

    Ribs for Wife

I have this same dilemma with my old lady! I'll be interested in seeing the response. I think you're on the right track with coating and then basting every hour or so.

    Outdoor Q-tool storage box?

Also FWIW, reviews on Home Depot comment about it being smaller than they thought it would be, and one person even commented that they wish it was taller. I'm 6'2", so if people think it's short, it might be too short for me! Also the one review on Walmart.com says: "One note, though, it's not...

    Outdoor Q-tool storage box?

That thing does look awesome! I googled it and found it at walmart for $149 and $159 at Home Depot and Sears. A little too rich for my blood, I'm afraid. I see they have another non-sink model, but it's not as easy to come by, and the one place I found it wanted $165 for it, but it's out of...

    Outdoor Q-tool storage box?

As I was digging through the tiny little cabinet in the kitchen that the wife has allowed me to use for all my q-tools (tongs, spatulas, brushes, thermometers, spray bottles, wood chips, etc) I got the idea to move it all outdoors. Seems like it makes sense to put it all out there where I use...

    GOSM need help making smoke

Stock water pan works just fine from my experience. Can't comment on the coffee can, but like travcoman said, I've had a ton of success with a cake pan foiled with holes in the top of it. I know there's some threads around here with pics of the coffee can mods.

anybody got a home remedie for ear infection??

I used to have horrific ear infections as a kid and mom did this, but with Sweet Oil, which I'm guessing you could find at the pharmacy. I have seen some folks saying it's basically veggie oil, but I don't have any in front of me to look at the ingredients. Either kind of oil should probably...

Fatties that didn't make it in time for the throwdown

Dang man! Lucky for everyone involved that those didn't make it into the throwdown! Love the bacon weave in the third one :) That lasagna fatty is looking tasty! Care to enlighten me on the innards of that one?

    Breakin out

You're 44 and have 2 year old twins?!?!??! I don't think I could handle that at 34, much less 44. You're a braver man than I. Welcome to SMF from up here near the ATL!

do u soak your wood before you burn it?

I have a GOSM and I have soaked my chips in the past, but don't since I got rid of the little chip box and went to a bigger one. Soaking did seem to help me get a little more time between chip changes with the old chip box.

    Enough Smoke

Don't think I have a pic of it online, but I'll snap one this evening if you want. It's basically the same as this one at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Bakers-Secret-...6668045&sr=8-2 I'd say it's a good 2x bigger than the stock little chip box.
