I think most WSMs leak a little bit, especially if the middle section is slightly out of round. Mine leaks a little, but it keeps a steady temp. Since yours is keeping good temps, I wouldn't worry to much about it.

You could also try the high heat method. Get your cooker up to about 350. Cook the butt for 3 hours, then foil and put back on cooker. After 2 hours, check the temp and take it off when meat gets to 195. Let the butt sit foiled for an hour, and then pull. Great pulled pork in 6 to 7 hours!
