Cross pollination from hotter peppers does not affect sweet peppers. Here is an explanation:
"It is true that most varieties of hot and sweet peppers grown in home gardens are the same species, Capsicum annum, and capable of cross-pollinating, but that is the only grain of truth to this common...
I made Dutch's Beans for a group on our 4th of July camping trip. They were all gone, and I had to promise to give the recipe to about half of the group.
I am going camping with a group of friends over the long weekend, and have been designated camp cook.
The big smoke will be Saturday, when I do a couple of butts, Dutch's beans, and cheesy potatoes. I can't remember the formula for how much I need to feed a group.
The group will consist of 12...
Hello, this is Kayla. Dave's(Gordo's) step-daughter.
I just wanted to thank all you guys on this thing. Dave has made so many wonderful and good things. Also I hope you can teach him how to make a better, juicier beef briscut.

I would like to do a couple of turkeys this weekend, and have never done any poultry on the smoker before. Just butts, ribs, and a brisket.
I have been trying to piece together what I need to know from various threads here, but want to make sure I...
Just got a New Braunfels El Dorado smoker this week off of craigslist for $40. It is an actual New Braunfels, not the new imitation version by Char-Broil. Had a little exterior rust, but overall was in pretty good shape. I hosed it down, went over the rusty spots with a wire brush, and gave it...
OK, It's a done deal. I thought this guy lived about 4 hours away, but that is just his lake cabin. He said he will be up there this weekend and bring it home which is only about 30 miles from me.
So I'll be able to pick this up next week sometime and see what kind of shape it is in and fire it up.
After doing a little research, it is called the El Dorado (now made by Char-Broil, but this one appears to be an original New Braunfels model I hope.
Selling for $40. Char-Broil sells online for $199 http://www.charbroil.com/Consumer/pr...ProductID=1672
It is about 3 or 4 hours away from me...
I was kind of thinking about this as well while reading this thread. Brisket on the top, and a foil pan on the lower grate to catch the drippings.
I've never done a brisket yet, but think I will give it a try soon. I'll probably put the pan on the lower grate for the 1st part of smoking, but...
