Doug, a stick burner would be fun but a lot of work for small single cooks . The convenience of plug and play (electric) or fire it up and run (gasser) is what I'm looking for.
Came close to buying a Meadow Creek a few times but never pulled the trigger on one.
Guys I'm in the market for a good quality smoker that will last us over the long haul. What's a great quality unit that doesn't need any mods and is ready to go right out of the box. My focus is ribs and butts.
TIA, UIF.
Hi guys, I'm in the market for another smoker and this time it will be a gasser.
Any thoughts on the Weston 36 in. vertical cabinet model ?
TIA, Denny.
I've had two Mav 732s. neither of them were ever mistreated in any way.
Both receivers died on their first cooks.
May I say, Junk ??? !!!!!!!!!!!
Denny.
ikrus & jrod, thanks guys. Whipped out my CC and one is on the way to its new home. Earlier I plugged DICER into the BB&B search and drew a blank ???
Thanx again, UIF.
An electric smoker to cook/smoke sausages is in my near future most definitely and I'm considering Masterbuilt as an entry level unit even though the internet is packed with issues and complaints about them.
Having said that, they still seem to have a loyal following.
Your comments about this...
I'm leaning towards a Masterbuilt for an entry level unit to get my feet wet making sausages but the internet as well the forums are FULL of complaints and issues about them causing me to look at higher end models
Michael, Mine is the older unit with the stack on the side.
Only thing I have done to it is fill with a chimney or two of Royal Oak briquettes and sit back and enjoy.
Keep us posted on your new toy.
Correct, but I don't mind moving it. Might extend the stack as well to within 3-5 inches of the grates as well.
Thinking about flipping the charcoal basket upside down as well as raising it up a bit so as not to restrict the airflow.
Seems pretty simple to do but was wondering if anyone here has done it and what the results were.
I read the thread about the various mods to enhance the CGSPs performance but have not seen much in the way of reverse flow mods.
Maybe someone can point me in the right direction.
Thanx in...
All good points, guys. I will try to find out the cfm of one the fans listed in my links. The one fan looks HUGE but it is really just 3 inches in diameter.
As the fan will be mounted in the cooking area and will neither draw from nor exit from the cook chamber only keep the inside air in...
Sorry guys, Did what you suggeted but it didn't work.
Something about default .
Maybe we can move onto discussing idea and I will try to repost later.
The kinks were just pictures of fan motors from a convection oven if that helps.
I delted links to avoid confusion
Again sorry.
After reading much about the Chargriller Smokin' Pro I went out and bought one. I wanted a little more cooking area than my present little offset offers which was the main reason for my purchase.
Much has been written about them and the various mods performed on them.I am in the process of...
