Watching BBQ Pitmasters last week I saw that Johnny Trigg placed his butts in an aluminum pan. Now this method would certainly keep his pit clean but how does it help cooking the butt? I do not pan nor do I foil. I'm going after the most bark possible. (Just finished a 17 hour cook with two...
Personally, I would choose gas. Reason being, if you have a power outage, you can't cook. But with propane, you're always cooking (providing you filled your tank).
Around here, we can be out of power for days whenever a hurricane rolls through. I don't want to use my generator to power a...
So I finally got me one of these jewels after my Polder remote went out, gosh, I don't know how long ago.
So I'm doing a butt right now and I have the transmitter up on top of my GOSM resting atop a old wooden plank. Then I got to thinking...it's got to be all hot and smokey up there...how...
Okay, call me a noob...but what's with the eggs? I assume they "bake" in there or is any smoke flavor induced during the BBQ process?
Inquiring minds want to know!
Kurt, this comp was a combined KCBS and MBN. Myron blew the KCBS part, but he could wow the judges with his rig, his technique and his thick line of BS.
Some may say he's rude and crude, but he can apparently turn on the charm and impress MBN judges. Even Lee Ann admitted his rig was...

And I agree, I believe Myron is just playing to the cameras. He may be a bit arrogant, but what true competitor you know isn't just a little...
Man, those look great!
Now here comes the newbie question...will you grill the sausage or slow smoke it & at what temp? I have a vertical box on my stick burner and I'm dying to put it to it's intended use!
My thoughts are slow smoke, vacuum pack and freeze for later. But I've read about...
Nice looking ribs!
Yeah, the GOSM will spoil the heck out of you...especially on butts and briskets! I do like to fire up my stick burner for ribs though. Tending a fire for a few hours is fun! But when it's football season and you want to entertain, a gasser is the way to go!
I had one from Wally World and it didn't last long. Never could hear the alarm beeper and after a while the thing just quit.
Get what you pay for I guess...Good luck with it!
8 of 10...missed the meat finger (never heard of that) and white sauce thing. And I should have known the white sauce cuz Bob Gibson has a white sauce!
