I am going to try and finish this thing up this week. I have a major question. Would it hurt anything to set the bottom of the firebox on the trailer ( get the rest of the trailer to hot ) ? Or should I just let the firebox hang off of the back with only my welds holding on?
Finally got around to taking a few more pics. Almost ready for the first burn! Let me know what you think.
The handle is just temporary, I have two spring handles to put on.
On this picture notice the gap in the door that I have to fix somehow.
I dont know if you can tell by the...
Hogwart, I hope you get really good answers because I am having the same problem. Have you tried heating the door and using a chain and jack or a hammer. To use the chain hook the chain to something sturdy so that it will lay across the door where it needs bent , put the jack between the door...
Niniron got me going on the pics I hope.
Now that I know how to post q-views I will do it more often. The only things I have left to do are mount the firebox , stack and mount it all to the trailer.
Randy that looks like a great idea and I might try it on my next build. I should have said the damper for airflow going into my firebox. Still working on enlarging my pics.
Well I have finally got a good start on my build. I have done everything bass ackwards right from the get go. I was told it was a 250 gal. tank but it is only a 125 gal. It is a reverse flow. I was given a chromed 5" stack but have a problem. Does the stack need to be mounted dead center or...
Thanks Dirt Guy. I knew I had seen it but could not find it. Now the build can officially start, I will be picking up the metal tom after work. The trailer is ready and the tank is cleaned and ready.
Also which high temp paint should I use? I do not want to paint it black. I am looking at Stove Bright but I would rather be able to buy it local. What about hight temp engine paint.
I am getting everything together to start (finish) my build and have questions. Is a 2' X 2' X 2" firebox ok for a 250 gallon tank? What size stack , length and diameter would be good? I have a 3" id pipe that is 5' long. I will be posting pics as soon as I can. Thanks
Gunner, I have a smoke hollow and if the outside temp is 40 or above it seems like I have to almost shut the valve on the propane cylinder. Hope this helps
Dont use the bag. You can use a bleach water solution to clean the cooler after the brining is done. Make sure that you dont leave the bleach water in the cooler to long as it will eat the lining of the cooler. Trust me I am speaking from experience
I am considering trying my hand at catering and setting up at local events next year. My question is how do I go about obtaining a food handlers license? I have been to the Illinois website but must be looking in the wrong place? Thanks for any and all advice. Bryon
