no. i was going to us a pan for my chips on the hotplate. and a drip pan so that should work for my deflector. bit i put a small axes door in the front for chip adding. so the smoke will still rise.
started my smoker. well i got my stainless steal sheets today. there 3x3 foot sheets. i going to us them to line my wood smoker. there 22 gage and did I'm mention free my smoker will be 2x2x3.
high temp wood smoker?? i'm building a high temp wood framed smoke. going to use 24 gage steanless on the in side, should i use insulation between the wood and stainless???
so wood will hold up to that kind of heat??? i wold like to make a small wood book ezer to build and cheaper. im looking at eather at 2x2x3 or 3x3x3.im like to do ribs,brisket, and stuff like that and jecky in the futer
smoker built out of wood??? is this a good idea? if so what kind. i would like to build my own I'm looking at about 24 in deep 24 inch wide and 36 inch tall. would it work and what to insulate it with??? and vent placement?

new kid from Chi town wonting to get in to smoking . i love to grill and making my drunken chickens. but would like to get in to smoking. I'm a do it yourself type of guy. so I'm going to build my own small electric smoker.I have an idea but Any other input would be nice. a little about myself...
