Well, here she is! I still have to change it from 3 phase to single but then we're up and running! Can't figure out how to attach a pic from my iPad. Bob [=][/]

Need suggestions for a man trailer

i just dropped off my tandem trailer at a local Amish builder to have a 7x8 cabin installed. My Friedrich smoker will then be installed on the porch. The cabin is solely for relaxation while smoking. With that in mind, what suggestions do you have to make this cabin the ultimate little cave?

Friedrich FMP400 - kept it and upgraded it! Updated with PICS!

I think that as of today, I'm going to mount it to a spare tandem trailer I have and go from there. I know I could sell it for a nice profit but I also know that I won't find another deal like this. Bob

Friedrich FMP400 - kept it and upgraded it! Updated with PICS!

I was at an auction today and was watching various items bring far more than they should when a near mint Friedrich fmp400 came up for sale. I ended up picking it up for $750. From what I can tell, it was close to $20,000 new which was only a few years ago. So, now I have this huge smoker...

Help me build this smoker....need suggestions/links

I just purchased a roughly 4 foot by 2 foot by 30 inches deep stainless warming cabinet. The entire unit, inside and out is stainless steel. It is uninsulated. I placed a burner it in this morning and in 36 degree weather it never broke 135 degree's. Here is what I would ideally like to do...

    Sausage grinders and stuffers

Mulepacking, what motor do you have? I see it's a direct connect with love joy couplers but isn't your motor turning too fast? I do not see a speed reducer there at all and that has been my achilles heel. I simply cannot find a speed reducer that will work.

    Grinders

Yup, I have a static converter. Not exactly the best way of utilizing a 3 phase motor but given no more often then I will be using this it will work. But, even for someone without a converter, the gear reducer alone is well worth the money. Pick up a 1700 rpm electric motor with a 56C face (I...

    Grinders

Actually, I was able to buy both the motor and gear reducer (both of which were brand new) for $55. I was fortunate enough to find it on eBay and the seller was only 15 miles from me. He will ship these for only $10 so for $65 you got a brand new, 1/3hp, 220 volt (nobody will want to borrow...

Cooking 6 five pound butts for Labor Day. When to start?

I guess a bit more advice is needed since plans have changed once again. The guy helping me is not thrilled now on starting as early as we need to. He read online that you can smoke these for 5 hours and then finish in the oven. He purchase 4 nine pound butts. If we go this route (I really...

Cooking 6 five pound butts for Labor Day. When to start?

I had originally thought about doing pork tenderloins due to the shorter cooking times but we have decided to do pork butts. We have 40 adults eating and figured 30 pounds would be good given the sides etc. I have not done a pork butt in years so I feel a bit green here. This is being...

Ok, I need some advice on a multi loin rotisserie project

So, loin would not be easy to produce pulled pork from? I am not against slicing one but I prefer to simply shred and put onto sandwiches. I think it will go much further. Just confused as to why that would not work. Bob

Ok, I need some advice on a multi loin rotisserie project

For Labor Day, a friend of mine found out that I own a very large whole hog rotisserie cooker. I purchased it about a year ago and have yet to use it. He is wanting to cook a whole hog for his Labor Day party which will have around 40 adults there. I realize the issue with cutting one's...

    Instead of a smoke pistol.....

Sorry for the delay guys. Between Thanksgiving and deer hunting, I've been swamped. Long story short, I have not had a chance to run this through it's paces yet as I have not replaced the pump. I need to hit Walmart and grab a new one. I will do my best to give it a good testing here soon...

    Negative rep points

I agree completely with regards to this forum. For instance, someone just gave me negative feedback with the comment "sure are mouthy for a new guy." This person, as far as I am concerned, is a coward. If you're going to make a comment like this then at least man up and own it. That's the...

    Instead of a smoke pistol.....

Well, I thought I would give a review after thoroughly trying it out tomorrow but I can't. Evidently the vibration of the pump was just enticing enough to prompt my Golden Retriever to eat it! I had it running for about 2 hours and it worked quite well. Not heavy smoke and it most certainly...

    Instead of a smoke pistol.....

Actually, the screen is fairly porous. Any ashes should easily fall through the grate. The holes are not big enough for M&M's to fall through but tic tacs won't survive. Griz
