Well I finally got around to testing the Fantast meat thermometer I purchased at Ikea. It has a 40 inch braided steel cord on the probe. You can program a temp into it and it will beep when it reaches the temp. I did the boiling water test and it read 213 degrees. I can live with that especially...
I just purchased a "Fantast" meat thermometer at Ikea in Seattle. The price was 7.62 with tax. Its a digital single probe with a braided steel connection wire. The price was too good to pass up. I havent even opened it up yet but figured that others may be interested. I will report back about...
I posted a reply with pics on the show your dog thread and now the entire page has gotten messed up, too wide. Can someone fix it? I previewed my post and it looked fine. But when I posted it was messed up.
Sorry

I didnt know where else to post this so I hope its appropriate here. We have a Dell printer and can't find any other source for cartridges but the Dell people. According to my wife they have screwed up two out of two orders. Is there any other source for their cartridges? Our next step is to get...
Its actually common in Hawaii. And there are many ways of preparing and cooking them. People go skin diving for them and it is an art in itself to find them. They are masters of disguise and, as a friend showed me once, you can be staring directly at them and not know its there. Anyway to...
This is a tako (octopus) that I recently smoked. The hole in the head is where the beak was.
I forgot to take the "after" pics. I was too eager to eat it. It turned out ok but not great.

Thanks for the advice from glued2it...
I tried to paste two pics in a recent post and they appeared side by side. I read the sticky by glued2it and tried to follow it carefully but I must have meesed up. I also could not caption or write in the post. I think I managed to resize the pictures down to 600X800 at photobucket so next time...
I'm smoking a butt today and getting white smoke. Is this bad? I have a electric ecb. Using soaked hickory chips in foil pouches. I drain the chips at least 30 minutes before using. Seems like I had white smoke the last time I used this also.
Thanks
Brian
Hi. I ordered a et-73 from the Kitchen Store.com. on a Friday via parcel post. It arrived the following Tuesday. I call that fast considering I'm in Honolulu. I tested it with the boiling water method and it read only 207 degrees at full boil and I am at no more than 50 feet above sea level. I...
I've noticed people like to use bone in butts. Is there a reason for this? Does it taste better? Are cooking times the same as boneless? I would prefer to use boneless simply for the fact that you can insert the thermometer without fear of touching the bone. Also is there a picture of where to...
Hi. I am thinking of purchasing an ET 73 thermometer. I see it for 57.95 at Amazon. Also for 39.99 at eKitchen and Home, The Gadget Source, The Kitchen Store, Parts Shelf. Obviously I would rather go with one of the cheaper places but I have never heard of these merchants before. I do know...
Hi. Am newbie with electric ecb. I know the max temp acheivable on the top grill is about 300 with no water in the pan. I get 225-240 with water. I have read here that chicken should be smoked at 300-350 degrees. I dont want anyone to get sick so am I on the edge of being safe if I use the...
Hi, I am a novice smoker hoping to learn the tricks of the trade. I have an ECB and used if for the first time yesterday. The results were just okay, not great. I have signed up for the 5 day course. Its good to know that I can turn to people on this forum for expert advice. I purchased the ECB...
