Does anyone have a recommendation for an electric smoker that uses chunks, not chips or pellets? My Brinkmann is slowly dying, and it's almost time to smoke turkeys! We usually smoke two turkeys at a time, so it needs to be fairly spacious.
The quest continues, or rather, restarts. I'm smoking four chickens and a Salmon today. I put the chickens in at 4AM. Went I went to check on them at 7AM, the smoker was cold! Not awesome.
It looks like the suggested smokers all use chips. I'm a big fan of chunks. Can I use chunks in these?
So, I've been using the basic Brinkmann electric smokers for years. My 3rd one is starting to need to be replaced, but since Brinkmann is no more, I'm going to need to change my loyalties. What is the prevailing wisdom for the new king of the cheap electrics? I really don't want any features...
