Just picked up a Bevles Commercial food warmer that was not working for $40 and wanting to add electric heating element and a smoke generator. Looking for some advice on what I need and if it is even possible. New to the build a smoker game, any and all

help is appreciated. Inside Dimensions are 65"H x 28"W x 18"D

That will make a wonderful cooker. Is it insulated? what temp range are you considering? that will determine your heat element size. Add a PID controller and smoke generator and it will work great.

That's what i ended up doing, 1500 watt element, pid and A Maze N pellet smoke generator. will post pics soon.

i keep it at 225 and it holds it there fine

What kind of meat loads are you putting in it, how many pounds at a time. I have a conversion very similar to yours. I am running 220 power and have 2 elements totalling close to 4000 watts. All of my details are in the post "Food Proofer Conversion Is Happening".

This is very similar to my commercial fridge conversion; PID, 1500w element, and AMAZN (although mine is set up to smoke wood chunks, too). In retrospect, a food warmer would have been a smarter choice. Much less work to get it operational.
Would love to see some pics of yours.

the most i have done was 8 8lb butts, usually it is a couple briskets 12-16 lbs or 2-3 butts or a few racks of ribs.

I just need to install the chimney and fresh air intakes and tidy up the electrical.
