I'm about to pull the trigger on my first Traeger grill and I have just one question.

Is there any advantage besides convenience to have the temp probs?

Only the larger models looked to have the prob option. I'm looking at purchasing one of the smaller models. Am I missing something here? The probs are not helping regulate the heat...right?

Ok...that's three questions but really just asking one concept question :)

The included probe is just so you can conveniently monitor the temperature of the meat you are cooking. I'd rather have a separate digital probe meat thermometer personally and preferably one that can handle multiple probes.

The extra meat probe does nothing to control the temperature of the smoker.
