Tractor Supply and most farm stores sell these 36" galvanized "Fire Rings." Wife wanted to add a couple of small beds to the raised bed garden for herbs and such. Rather than build more wooden beds I just bought two of these. They are perfect for smaller crops and I just bought another for the Fall garlic planting.

Your gonna be lucky if nobody comes by to tell you that the galvanized coating is going to rot off and leech into your soil, contaminating your food.
Hope not..
That really looks like a great idea. I think my folks would use those in their yard. Very cool!
The animal or livestock trough wold be cool . Bit more money. 6 footer is like $110.00
Couple feet deep and wide.

I looked at those but they have a bottom in them and would require either cutting out or drilling quite a few holes, either of which would compromise the galvanized layer.

Right.. it wouldn't be good for much else after that. If it were left standing above ground it would need a small 3/4" drain hole on either end. And a bit of stone layer on the bottom. It's 2 feet depth should be good enough for most plants.

I know my dog would be putting his mark on that raised bed. Of course if it stands up-right he marks it.

Chris.

Have to work around that stuff if your a pet owner.. I would electrify the steel and then the dog will stay away.
[emoji]128514[/emoji] just 1 time is all it would take I'm betting.

Yeah, but then where would I go.

Sorry no fire hydrants in my area. Good thing is we also don't have any police, so no public urination warnings or tickets.
