How the heck do you run this PID....Any simpler instruction would be appreciated!!!

JckDanls 07 Your right. I also go by IT but I do use the -121 setting as a final step just in case I... you know... fall asleep or something. Not that that has ever happened before! I use the ramping in one step calculated to be approximately 10 degrees per hour. It works well. I hadn't...

JckDanis 07 You can also program a step with a "-121" Time setting at the end of your process to stop the smoker as well. Mike

help with pid for new smoker

JckDanis 07 That diagram was the SYL2352. I have since switched it to 220v and the SYL2352P. The wiring would be the same though. Here's a picture of the element setup I used with the original setup for the wiring diagram I posted above. It was two 110v finned strip heaters with a blower to...

help with pid for new smoker

Auber does sell pretty much everything you need including cabinets and heat sinks. The only additional items you'll need is wire and a few various connectors which should be available at an electronics store or Radio Shack. Mike

help with pid for new smoker

Hi Merlecommet Here is a diagram of the wiring I used on one smoker I built with 2 - 110v elements using a PID to control it. It is an Auber PID. A couple things to note, First, you need to have power from 2 separate circuits coming in. The reason is a standard 110v circuit will not handle both...

Ikrus You don't have to have the humidifier inside the cabinet. Here is a link to my build. Although mine is a commercial freezer if you scroll down through the pictures you will see how I setup the humidifier. http://www.wedlinydomowe.pl/en/viewtopic.php?t=6426 Mike

    Pid and ssr help !!!

The other members are right, you can really only run about 1500 watts on one circuit. One option you could do is to tear down the hot plates and simply wire them direct. After all the PID will be controlling them. A PID doesn't care how much power it switches. The PID is simply signaling the...
