KathrynN, may I ask how long you been using your SV and if you use it during the winter. 20 degrees and lower ? Thanks, UIF.

Doug, a stick burner would be fun but a lot of work for small single cooks . The convenience of plug and play (electric) or fire it up and run (gasser) is what I'm looking for. Came close to buying a Meadow Creek a few times but never pulled the trigger on one.

Guys I'm in the market for a good quality smoker that will last us over the long haul. What's a great quality unit that doesn't need any mods and is ready to go right out of the box. My focus is ribs and butts. TIA, UIF.

Does Masterbuilt Have Their Act Together ?

An electric smoker to cook/smoke sausages is in my near future most definitely and I'm considering Masterbuilt as an entry level unit even though the internet is packed with issues and complaints about them. Having said that, they still seem to have a loyal following. Your comments about this...

Cookshack Smokette Elite Model SM025 or Smokin Tex 1400 or Smokin it #2

I'm leaning towards a Masterbuilt for an entry level unit to get my feet wet making sausages but the internet as well the forums are FULL  of complaints and issues about them causing me to look at higher end models

Please Tell Me About Your Backyard Offset.

Michael, Mine is the older unit with the stack on the side. Only thing I have done to it is fill with a chimney or two of Royal Oak briquettes and sit back and enjoy. Keep us posted on your new toy.

Chargriller Smokin Pro Reverse Flow Mods.

Correct, but I don't mind moving it. Might extend the stack as well to within 3-5 inches of the grates as well. Thinking about flipping the charcoal basket upside down as well as raising it up a bit so as not to restrict the airflow.

Chargriller Smokin Pro Reverse Flow Mods.

Seems pretty simple to do but was wondering if anyone here has done it and what the results were. I read the thread about the various mods to enhance the CGSPs performance but have not seen much in the way of reverse flow mods. Maybe someone can point me in the right direction. Thanx in...
