    Anybody cooking this weekend ?

Just finished prepping the last 7 dozen ABTs and got them in the smoker. GO BILLS!! Sorry, just had to say that.... A lesson learned I thought I'd share about these two batches. I'll preface it by saying that I'm on disability so money's always tight. My wife makes a decent income but we're...

    Anybody cooking this weekend ?

And here's the first round! Two dozen disappeared before I could even get them in the house! I used mostly cherry wood and alternated a little bit of mesquite and maple. They taste great but not as spicy as the first ones I did a couple weeks ago.

    Anybody cooking this weekend ?

Yes I am! We had 65 mph wind gusts, torrential rains with flooding and a 30° temperature drop. But I'm braving the cold and smoking away. My last batch of ABTs went like proverbial hotcakes and my wife found a farmers market in Erie PA that had an 8 quart basket of jalapeños for $9. 107 whole...

ABTs? and to soak or not to soak

Thanks everybody! And LMAO about the acronym! :emoji_laughing: Message received about soaking the wood! SmokinVOLfan, I tried the chunks once but MasterBuilt doesn't recommend it. I had a full blaze going on the 3 chunks I had put in! :emoji_astonished: Warren, thanks for the tip! I'll look...

ABTs? and to soak or not to soak

Hi everybody! Sorry I wasn't very active this season - had a lot of things good and bad going on. I've only fired up my smoker twice. Hope everyone has had a great summer and fall so far. First question. I just made my 3rd batch of bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers per Jeff's awesome recipe. I...

    Feast or Famine

Loins came out nice The one on the left is BBQ. The Asian seasoned loin got done quick. I hit the 5 spice seasoning amount just right! Whew! Was a little worried because of the cloves and anise but it came through very subtly

    Feast or Famine

Mostly feast - today anyway. Started out mesquite smoking a half bushel of fresh red bell peppers for the annual soup event in March We'll slice them up and freeze them. While they were working we started on a batch of Jeff's shrimp stuffed jalapeño poppers. I told my wife about a tip Jeff...

Why no chunks in MB Pro

4 bigger chunks and two or three much smaller pieces, just enough for a single layer in the pan. Figured because of the size I didn't need as many.

Why no chunks in MB Pro

One of my first posts on SMF was why can't you use wood chunks in the MasterBuilt Pro smoker. Someone replied that they use them all the time with no problems. I found out today why they're not recommended and count myself lucky that I was paying attention. Decided to smoke a half-dozen turkey...
