    Char-Griller Pro 3001 Question

Yeah, you're right. I would only get the attachment due to saving space--knowing that the dual purpose generally aren't that great. I just like to have that option. We live in a townhouse right now and my double barrel 55 gallon drum smoker sits at my parents place. I love it, but it is way too...

    Char-Griller Pro 3001 Question

M wife approached me and informed me of her intentions of getting a gas grill (which I was TOTALLY AGAINST). Her reasoning was that she could easily go out and start it on short notice/quick change of mind for dinner plans without me and not have to heat up the oven/stove, which in turn heats up...

    Turkey Success with some issues

Had two turkeys smoking at the same time...for the first time in my newly built double barrel smoker. They were done way too quick. After 5 hours the 18 pounder was finished. Less than an hour later, the 22 pounder was done. I kept the temps between 300 and 350. Slightly dry despite the...

Spatchcock 22 lb turkey on UDS?

So is 220-240 just too low for turkey...? Because that is the perfect temp for smoking brisket.

Spatchcock 22 lb turkey on UDS?

I though you wanted to smoke at 220 to 240? I think I have to...as I will have both a brisket AND turkey on the smoker (so I will need the low and slow). How long will it take to smoke a 18 to 22 lb spatchcocked turkey at 220 to 240 degrees? Is it better to spatchcock one that big? Sorry, don't...

    Can Opener, Anyone?

I have access to several FREE barrels, but they are all sealed (with the exception of the bung on top). What is the best way to open one in such a way that I can put the lid on again?

A few questions before I get started on my UDS...

A few questions before I get started on my UDS...

Wow, thanks for the replies, everyone! Still have a lingering question, though. How long will it smoke. I had to keep adding wood to my ECB I used to have simply because while it was still hot and cooking, the smoke would stop and I would have to add more to keep up the smoking. I like to use...

    Turkey Fryer as a Smoker?

No, it was the whole thing. It looks as though you could probably put wood in the bottom of it and have it smoke as needed.

A few questions before I get started on my UDS...

I read a thread about why people don't put doors on the side of the UDS, but wood and charcoal will only smoke for so long, won't it? I have used both wood and charcoal in my Brinkmann Gourmet El-Cheapo and had to continually add to keep up the smoke. Also, I may start using primarily wood, as...

    Turkey Fryer as a Smoker?

Hey all, I have a few questions for you. I was at Home Depot today and looking at their discounted grills. In talking to one of the store clerks, who was quite the smoker, he pointed out a Char-Broil propane Oil-Less turkey fryer (Big Easy) and said he had heard of folks using those as smokers...

Has anyone used one of these for smoking?

Crazy, my grill has NO intake vents even. Kinda strange. I suppose I could make some...and even put a smoke stack on it too, I just hate to cut into the thing. Oh well. Thanks for the replies so far guys!!

Has anyone used one of these for smoking?

I have a Brinkmann Professional Dual Zone Heavy Duty Charcoal Grill seen here. http://www.brinkmann.net/products/details.aspx?item=810-3240-0 I got it used not long ago and haven't tried smoking in it yet, but was wondering if I could? If someone on this forum has used it as such? It's got no...

Rub or Mop, or Rub AND Mop...?

Got a brisket sitting on the smokey. I put a rub on it yesterday morning(ish) and started it on the grill early this morning. When something has a dry rub, should it be mopped with something as well or just be left alone? Are there advantages to doing both vs. one or the other?

    Taking up Second Hand Smoking!!!!!!!!!

Scott here. I do apologize for not posting in this forum before I posted my question last night, but it was a long day and well past bedtime--Roll Call did not stand out...didn't find it till this morning. Anyway, I am smoking up the Shenandoah Valley this morning with my new Brinkmann Green...
