One basket (which holds about 2 lbs of charcoal) will last about 5 hours at 220. At $0.35 per lb, that is only 70 cents worth of charcoal I am burning up. Question -- How important is the length of the chimney ? How long (tall) should it be? I was looking at the cow boy hot tub heater things: http://www.cowboyhottubs.com/ They are a small box and have a really tall chimney, and the draft effect of the heat rising seems to suck the air...- spen

That is some really great data. I have heard over and over how the UDS keeps the temp rock solid all day without any fidgeting, but until your post, I have not seen any real data to support that. Looks like the temp rises and drops, and you do have to fidget with the valves and stuff like...- spen
