    PRIME RIB (Great Stuff)

There are many things in the world that would do you harm if you "drank a cup" but small external exposure is virtually harmless.  I'll put just as much on me as the rabbits, squirrels etc. that you claim we're killing daily and won't think twice about it.  Check the LD50's on most ag...

    PRIME RIB (Great Stuff)

Great looking prime rib.  Our local Kroger put whole ribeyes on sale for $4.97/# so I've got a 14 pounder set to go on my woodburner tomorrow.  Gonna use almost all cherry wood with just a hint of hickory thrown in to get it to about 135. Michael I'm also from Ark. (Brinkley) and am glad to see...

First brisket smoke w/Qview and questions.

I ended up putting it back in the juices and we reheated it today. It was better than last night after it had sat out for while. I guess overall I was pleased with how it eventually turned out. Several of the guys eating it today said it was some of the best they've ever had. 95% of the...

First brisket smoke w/Qview and questions.

Not sure how the hogs will be this year but I'm hoping for the best. I'm from Brinkley (half way between LR and Memphis). I went to the UofA so I'll be a Razorback until I'm dead.

First brisket smoke w/Qview and questions.

I didn't do any injection at all. I did squirt it down numerous times with apple juice while cooking. After sitting for a while the meat takes a fair amout of tug to break a slice apart. It doesn't fall apart so I don't think I overcooked it. Maybe thats the way its supposed to be and I'm...

First brisket smoke w/Qview and questions.

Smoked my first brisket ever today along with a couple pork butts. I did this on my home built wood fired smoker with cherry and apple as the woods of choice. 225-250 deg for about 14 hours got everything done. I took the brisket up to 170, foiled and then went to 190. It got to rest about 1.5...

Got my smoker back from the painter....need a name.

The paint I used was Thermolux High temp paint made by Dampney. I found it at this website. www.stovepaint.com Apparently the "order online" part of their site is screwed up so I just called the 800 number at the bottom of the homepage and placed my order directly. The prices were also much...

    Abt Rack

Its just cold roll. You can't be too picky when you're gettin stuff out of the scrap iron pile. When I pulled it out it was covered in rust but a few minutes with my big grinder and wire wheel smoothed it up. A little rub down with cooking oil made it shine.

    Love dress

Thats funny right there I don't care who ya are. I actually had a friend in high school whose mother showed him her new dress with vertical stripes. She said the stripes were supposed to be slimming. His only comment was "needs more stripes" and he ran out. I'm not sure what happened when he...

19 Pork butts to break in the new smoker. Q-view.

All I've got on them is a local rub called Woody's BarBQ Dry Rub thats made just up the road from me. He's got a deal with Sam's Club to sell large containers in the local store. http://www.grillershallofflame.com/m...m?Product_ID=8 Actually I think they're getting too near a black color from...

    Weekend#6 Project Fatman with (pics)

Great looking smoker you built there Zeeker. I'm wanting to build one about that size when it cools off and I just hope it turns out half as nice as yours. I noticed a disk and big truck in the background.......do you farm?

    More babybacks on the drum

Those sure look good and juicy. I never seem to get that much pullback on mine for some reason.

Got my smoker back from the painter....need a name.

I'd like to thank everyone for the excellent name suggestions. After consulting with the boss and some close friends we've decided the new smoker will forever be known as "The Hulk". Many thanks to Snowball for the winning name. I got a couple more pics that should show the contrast a little...

19 Pork butts to break in the new smoker. Q-view.

I got to break in my new home made smoker today by doing butts for all my neighbors, my employees and the different people who helped me on my build. It ended up being 19 in all. Looking back I probably should have bought one more just to say I did an even 20. This was also a good practice run...

    Reverse Flow Build

Excellent looking rig you got going there. Thats a great idea with the angle iron sloping to a drain. The next one I build will be a reverse flow and I'll probably "borrow" that design. Until I got on this board I'd never even heard of a reverse flow much less seen one so it should be...
