    Dog For Sale

    My buddy has a dog like that. Some kinda mastiff. Name's Hoss. I'm 6'1" and Hoss's nose'll hit me right about mid-belly without him even looking up. If he stands on his back legs he's taller than me. He can easily knock my 300 lb+ butt off my feet just by coming up and leaning against me.

    personally I wouldn't use rock salt, too much chance of impurities that could ruin it. I'd use kosher or pickling/canning salt instead. But as to your question, I assume you're meaning a salt crusted prime rib? Never done one but there's a couple posts on here about it if you do a search.

    try doing a search for "maple extract" (make sure you include the quotes). I found a handful of threads that don't mention mapleiene specifically (it's just a name brand for imitation maple extract) but use the extract in 'em.

    I'd probably hit it with a pressure washer, then a good scrubbing with simple green, then do it again a couple times. Then a good hot fire and reseason it after all it said and done.

    as it is, the sauce is kind of a mixture of both, sweet with a bit of kick at the end. I find it a good starting point. For the people that like it sweet I usually modify Jeff's sauce by cutting down the cayenne and CBP a bit and adding some extra molasses and some honey. Haven't had any...

    Don't close the vent. You need to have it open for air circulation and to prevent creosote. I run mine wide open all the time.

    some of the mes's (including mine) have problems starting up in low temps (say under 45 or so). But usually just taking the control box inside for a little bit will get it going ok. I've used mine in temps down into the teens and once it's up to temp it seems to hold it just fine.
