    Yea, I agree that is what I have done. Wrap in foil with a little bit of apple juice, place in your oven 350 for half hour and they are warm and not dry. Good luck.

    I agree Grizz. When I went into it I thought it was going to be very low cost and once into it I the true cost was revealed. But it was a blast to make and I love to smoke on it.

    In my personal opinion I think that is a pretty good price. I just built one and the little things add up, , barrel, paint, lid handle, casters, thermo ect.. Plus the amount of work you put into it, all though fun it is time consuming. Just my thoughts. Ask if it comes with the charcoal...

    I have acquired a branch from a peach tree and I read on another website that if you cut fruit wood into chucks and store it the wood will lose its flavor. They say to cut it when you are ready to smoke. Does anyone know anything about this and is it true.

    does the barrel grade matter ?

    We used food grade barrels that held orange juice for our UDS and they were pretty cheap, like $15.00. However it was a pain in the ass to get the liner out. We burned and wire wheeled and did it again. Good luck!
