Perdue Turkey Breast Roast (10lbs) - Smoked

This is for those who either host large Thanksgiving dinners or for those, like me, who just want to provide ample leftover bird to guests. (in my case, older relatives who no longer cook). I tried this in 2020 with a 9lb-er, and yesterday with a 10lb-er. 1. Thawed over several days (but the...

    First Smoked Pulled Pork!

Great job! Looks awesome... I have more than a few under my belt, and as I type, I am envious as I am in hour 13 with no end in sight (175)... Great advice has already been given. All I can add is that when you think you have it conquered, the smoke gods will humble you quickly. Kinda like...

    R.I.P. Bearcarver (John)

Sad to say that I haven't smoked in a while, so prepping for my Easter ham, I checked in like I always do before every smoke. Bearcarver was my "goto" guru, and still will be with the threads that will live as his smoking legacy. Prayers to the family, Chris

    America's Birthday Cake!

OK, the "rest" happened, then the carve and feast. My thoughts on the unwrapped version was that it was a bit drier than I am accustomed to, but was exactly what was expected. It wasn't jerky and the bark and flavor were outstanding! For all of the arguments I've read, I think I decided that...

    America's Birthday Cake!

Brisket! 9 lb flat SPOG 14.5 hours on PB Competition blend pellets Additional smoke tube used No wrap 2 hour rest in faux cambro. Wanted to do a true old school brisket (yeah, I know, not really old school on a pellet smoker, but anyway...), meaning no wrap. Once I closed the lid, I didn't...

I didn't want this to be my second post.

I'm so sorry. Just know that like with many, many others, he saved my ass last Thanksgiving when I bought a 9lb hunk of turkey roast without any idea of how to smoke it. Turned an expensive impulse buy into a delight my own dad raved about. I'll put extra bay leaves in the turkey n noodles...

Pork Butt. Hour 14.. Still Waiting...

I had charcoal, gas, and electric smoker's before trying the pellet style. I'm still new to it with no water pan, so I played it a bit more cautious. With the higher cook temp, I'll prob put a water pan in just for piece of mind. Thoughts?
