Inside Round Roast - qview along the way

Does adding the Royal Oak help? I have an MES, too, and have been hesitant to try that.

Which to buy, Masterbuilt Electric or Bradley Digital Electric 4 Rack?

I recently purchased a 30" MES and really like it. Easy to use and it has worked well in temps much colder than you will face in Florida. My neighbor has a Bradley original and likes the "set it and forget" aspect. But the MES is fairly close to that. Plus, my wife won't let me leave the...

    Newbie in Minnesota

Welcome, Steve! I'm in Minnesota, too, and smoking hasn't been too bad this winter. However, I am like you. I am considering building some type of shelter (probably portable to appease the boss) to make things a little easier. And this is a great site. Not just for the information but for...

    Masterbuilt smokers

Should the damper on a MES be open all the time? Does this maximize the temps? I know this would be the case on a charcoal grill but not sure on an electric smoker. I did some ribs on a MES last weekend trying the 3-2-1 method and they got done a lot quicker than I thought they would.

New cold weather shack, and a Q-view!

    Suggestions needed for Prime Rib

Walking Dude - I have heard about this method before. How large was the your prime rib and at what temp did you smoke at? How long did it take? I am picking up for my father-in-law this Christmas and we always have prime rib. I would like to put a little twist to it and this sounds great.

    Newbie from Minny

Fired up the unit a couple of hours ago for two reasons: season the unit and see if it will hold the heat in 10 degree weather. Wrapped the unit in a sleeping bag and it has held steady at 225 for the past hour. Threw on some hickory chips and that smelled really good. I think I am going to go...

    Newbie from Minny

Thanks, everyone!! I have been checking out this site for a couple of weeks and appreciate the comments including those by the "legends"! I picked up the smoker today and can't wait to get it seasoned tomorrow. Plenty cold here so I will have to see how the outside temps will affect the...

    Newbie from Minny

I've been wanting to buy a smoker for a couple of years now. My neighbor has a Bradley and is always bragging about the food he smokes. I finally decided that now is the time. Cabelas has the Masterbuilt Electric Smoker on sale which I see as a sign to buy! I have heard good things about both...
