    Planting Peppers

I'll have to go get some of those from lowe's. What about the temperature of the soil. I've read that it needs to be around 75-85 degrees. Any tips you have on using them?

    Planting Peppers

Got some various pepper seeds that I am going to plant this year but need some advice on starting them indoors. For those of you who have done this before any advice would be appreciated. This is my first go at it and would like to grow a few peppers this year.

    Dryer vent stack extension mod....question?

From my understanding, by extending the chimney down to grate level, it is evening out the heat from the top of the cooker to grate level. Also, since heat and smoke rise, the extension keeps more smoke in the chamber to circulate around the meat. Might have to experiment a little to see how...

Galvanized metals in my smoke box

I'm with linescum on this one. Use the aluminum flashing and just roll it up and place it it the chimney.

Current conditions and Brinkmann mods..Pics inside

Yep, what they said, no galvanized. And be careful modding your smoker can be just as addicting as smoking the meat. I've made a few different baffles for my smoker and recently added tuning plates, which are still a work in progress. So far i've gotten my smoker down from a 70 degree...

After smoking butts, chickens, turkeys, fatty, and ribs, I think its about time to smoke a brisket. I've read a couple post about cooking them but had a question for you smokers out there. I hear about different cuts of brisket, flat and point. Are these the only cuts for brisket. Also, is...

    Turkey Q View

Get a chimney starter and fill it up with charcoal, then take some newspaper and ball/crunch/whatever and place it under the chimney. Should have ashed over coals in about 20-30 minutes.

    Spare Rib Q-view

Smoked some spare ribs and a fatty this weekend. For the ribs I used Jeff's rub and the 3-2-1 method. Much, much better than the first rack i smoked. Fatty was JD hot with chipotle cheedar. Man was that good. Neighbors brought over some homemade potato salad and some baked beans (I'll have to...

    Brinkmann Smoke 'N Grill

After giving this some more thought, i've come up with another question. Could this smoker be used for cold smoking? If so, what would work best as the heat source, charcoal, propane, or electric? I already have a offset smoker I use, this is just an extra to tinker with.

    Brinkmann Smoke 'N Grill

A friend of mine gave me a smoke 'n grill he no longer uses (looks like it has been used no more than 10 times). I was thinking of converting it to propane. Can anyone provide any tips or know of any posts on here that would be helpful? I searched around a little but didn't really find...
