I found this last night just before it ended. There was a code floating around (Google is your friend) for the 40% off, its dead now. Got my bag rolls for $4.19 each! Picked up a V3840 for $104 and a couple extra marinating containers for $9.90 each. I bought a lot of bag rolls, thank god the...
Heirlooms can blow away hybrids in flavor and size, but are less disease resistant. I grow a variety of them each year, but the last two years were terrible. Rained all June! Without warm temps and sun nothing is going to do well, hybrids or heirlooms. I grow mine in self watering containers and...
I'd go with a couple of bone in whole breasts. Basically, the front half of the turkey.A boneless breast might cook pretty quick and not get much smoke time. The bone in whole breasts usually take around 3hrs @ 300° and they come out pretty good. I pull them out around 163 internal temp.
I believe the MES heater is a tubular heater formed to their specs. Omega sells them, but they need to be bent into shape. I've used them a few times and you have to be careful bending them. Once you get the shape and you heat it up there is no going back, the sheath is now annealed and cannot...
Sorry to hear about your job Ron, hang in there. It does seem that some businesses are starting to pickup. The economy is like a freight train, once the momentum has stopped it takes time to get it back up to speed once it's going again. It will come around again...lets just hope sooner than...
You could always weigh some pieces first for a baseline and weigh the same pieces again after to see how much water you evaporated out of the wood. The rest should track the same if you make the sizes similar. Look for somewhere around a 25%~30% reduction in the weight of your test pieces. It...
Don't use the cement that comes with the rope! It becomes hard and brittle when dried, won't hold up. I would use a hi temp silicon gasket maker/adhesive (Permatex). Get it from an auto parts store. Another option is attach it with some small rivets.
The exhaust fan can only pull as much air out as the intake inlet will let in. So why not rig up something to push clean air into the intake? That way your fan stay cool and clean.
I wouldn't have a problem returning some that breaks within their return period, which in this case is anytime. All the guys out here with the Sam's Masterbuilt units struggling with the heater and controller problems should be aware they can get a free replacement or their money back anytime...
I just bought an LED HDTV at Sam's Club tonight and never realized that Sam's had basically a lifetime return policy, no questions asked. As of Nov 1st this is changing to 90 days on electronic purchases. Purchases made prior to Nov 1st are grandfathered under the old return policy. Just made it...
Nice job on the control and using what you have! I like the idea of making a guru style temp control.
I'm doing similar thing for my gravity feed smoker. Going to use DC stuff and make it run off 12v, power it with a 12v, 1A wall PS (run on battery if needed). Auber has some cheap controller...
