I got an auber for Christmas and I love it...im gonna get the 10cfm fan to go along with my 6cfm so that I csn more efficiently smoke at higher temps.

Fresh pork should have zero smell...it will have an odor if removed from vac pack but even that should dissipate. I suspect you got one that was left out of fridge..most stores should have no problem making it right, I've taken many things back.

The last wild hog I ate was nasty...the meat smelled like pine needles when it was cooking...the dogs liked it, maybe yours will taste better since it was penned and likely fed a diet that a non wild hog would eat. Im interested in finding out how it tastes.

Well honestly after I replied I realized that maybe the Walmart in your area didn't carry brisket..., ours does at $2.79lb. See if they can order you one.

Wsm and insulated cover....you can buy 3 of them for the price of one bge depending on model. You could also build a 3 or 4 sided wind shield gor the wsm for those cold windy winter smokes...me personally...I am a weber snob...if I was to get a smoker othrr than a wsm it would be a vertical...

So if it was previously corned it will not exchange much liquid. You may have to soak belly prior to curing.
